What is Henna?
Henna is a plant indigenous to the Middle East and Central Asia. Its leaves contain high quantites of lawsone: a protien-loving compound valued for the reddish tones it imparts to natural fibers.
For thousands of years Henna has been used to decorate the body with beautiful temporary art for celebrations and ceremonies. Henna will stain the outer layer of skin, first an orange color that will deepen to reddish-brown tones over the next few days. The henna design will last between 1 and 3 weeks. Henna is a great, all-natural way to decorate your body without the permanence of "real" tattoos!
